Are you dreaming about being a celebrity living in Hollywood? Every year there are two plays that involve singing, dancing, creativity and humor which are performed by the Parkside Drama Club.

The Parkside Players Drama Club is open to anyone interested in theater and performing arts.  Students are required to have 2.0 GPA to participate.  Current and past members have stated that Drama Club is a great place to make friends and has a welcoming environment.

This year, Mrs. Pruitt is holding auditions for the fall of 2018’s comedy, “Dracula: A Comic Thriller”. There are many roles in the play, including small roles.  Sometimes, Parkside actors get more than one role. If students are not interested in acting, they can become a crew member and work behind stage or work with light and sound, the play’s spotlights and special effects.

All actors must create or buy and bring their own costumes and props to rehearsal. Dress rehearsals take place about a week before the play begins.

The play will have 2 to 3 performances. Depending on the play, one of the 3 times will be a performance in front of an audience of elementary school children, which allows Parkside to give back to the community.

Auditions for “Dracula: A Comic Thriller” will take place on September 27th after school at 3:00 pm in the Parkside auditorium. If you have any questions about the play, contact Alexa, Drama Club President, at 443-735-6369. Break a leg future stars of Parkside’s Drama Club!
